Fareed Zakaria on his CNN show, GPS had two interesting guests he has had before. Lionel Barber of the Financial Times and Professor Simon Schama of Columbia University, discussing President Obama's seven hour meeting with Congressional leaders.
Fareed called it before they came on, "Obama on the Couch." It is a good description and I am borrowing it for the title of this essay. The President is not being a leader. He also should not have tried health care for now.
A lesson I've learned is timing is everything. You may have the greatest idea since sliced bread, but if the timing is not right for it, the idea will be shelved and may not come out again.

So Canada defeated the United States in Men's Hockey in the Gold Medal round. The Canadian women already defeated the United States for gold. Klondike Gold, eh.
Congratulations to Canada! I am writing 500 times on the blackboard, "I will not send tanks North, I will not send tanks North." Don't laugh, in 1969 El Salvador and Honduras actually fought a war over in soccer match. Though, I do suspect, soccer raises higher passions than ice hockey, though ice hockey is faster.

All these years, we thought of Toyota as the ultimate in great cars. (I owned a great Toyota Tercel).
This week, I watched the Toyota executives being grilled by Congress. All I can imagine is in the movie, "A Fish Called Wanda," the head of Toyota is held out a window as John Cleese was, crying, "I am very sorry." Now, more interesting would have been him composing a death poem and committing seppuku. http://ping.fm/4LH3F
